Section 01

The Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern access to and use of the website naltherapy.com (the "Site") and the neuropsychotherapy services provided through it (the "Services") by Neuro Alchemy Lab ("NAL", "we", "us", "our"). NAL is a clinical practice founded and operated by Shainna, affiliated with C.Q.F.D. A.S.B.L. (a Belgian non-profit registered in Brussels, registration in progress). Correspondence: info@naltherapy.com.

By accessing the Site or booking any session, you ("the Client") agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site or book a session.

IMPORTANT NOTICE: These Terms include a limitation of liability clause (Section 7) and provisions governing jurisdiction and dispute resolution (Section 16). Please read those sections with particular attention before using the Services.

Section 02

The Practitioner and the Services

NAL Services are provided by Shainna, a certified neuropsychotherapist trained in intergenerational and transgenerational trauma with an ethno-decolonial clinical focus. The proprietary clinical framework used is the NAP-D Protocol (Neural, Ancestral, Present-behavioural, Decolonial). All sessions are offered online only, in English, French, and Arabic.

IF YOU ARE EXPERIENCING A MENTAL HEALTH EMERGENCY, ARE THINKING OF HARMING YOURSELF OR OTHERS, OR ARE IN ANY IMMEDIATE DANGER, DO NOT USE THIS SITE. CONTACT YOUR LOCAL EMERGENCY SERVICES IMMEDIATELY. THE SERVICES PROVIDED BY NAL ARE NOT INTENDED FOR CRISIS INTERVENTION, INVOLUNTARY TREATMENT, COURT-ORDERED THERAPY, OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY CARE.

NAL is complementary to, and not a substitute for, psychiatric care, medication management, or in-person emergency services. Where clinically appropriate, NAL works in coordination with referring psychiatrists and other treating practitioners. NAL does not prescribe medication, provide formal psychiatric diagnoses for legal or insurance purposes, or issue documentation for court-ordered care or emotional support animal certification.

Jurisdiction-specific notes

  • Clients located in France: Services are not reimbursed under the French social security regime. Practitioners at NAL are not medical doctors and do not provide medical or psychiatric advice. NAL does not conduct telemedicine activities as regulated under French law.
  • Clients located in Belgium, the EU, or Switzerland: Services are non-insured and non-tariff-regulated. NAL adheres to the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) for all personal data handling.
  • Clients located in MENA or Africa: Services are provided online and are subject to the laws of Belgium, where NAL's affiliated non-profit (C.Q.F.D. A.S.B.L.) is registered.
Section 03

Privacy and Data Protection

Protecting client data is a foundational obligation of this practice. Our full Privacy Policy, which explains how personal data is collected, used, stored, and protected, is available at naltherapy.com/privacy.html. By agreeing to these Terms or by using the Site, you also agree to the Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

NAL is GDPR-compliant for EU clients and applies equivalent standards of care and transparency to all clients regardless of their country of residence.

Section 04

Intellectual Property

The Site, the NAP-D Protocol clinical framework, all written content (including the Lab Letter newsletter, blog posts, and podcast transcripts), the NAL name, the NAL logo (the alembic-and-neural-arc mark), and all related design elements are the intellectual property of Neuro Alchemy Lab and Shainna, all rights reserved.

The NAP-D Protocol is a proprietary clinical framework. It may not be reproduced, taught, adapted, or applied by any third party without prior written authorisation from Shainna or Neuro Alchemy Lab. Personal, non-commercial reading of public-facing site content is permitted.

Section 05

Third-Party Content and Links

The Site may contain links to third-party platforms including Spotify, Apple Podcasts, YouTube, Instagram, and WhatsApp. NAL has no responsibility for the content, accuracy, or availability of third-party material, nor for the privacy practices or terms of service of those platforms.

Where clients communicate with NAL via WhatsApp, they do so through Meta's end-to-end encryption infrastructure and in accordance with Meta's own terms of service, in addition to NAL's. Clients who use WhatsApp to contact NAL accept those terms in addition to these.

Section 06

Booking, Sessions, Cancellations, and Refunds

  • The free 20-minute Discovery Call is available to all prospective clients without commitment.
  • The 90-minute clinical intake and 60-minute follow-up sessions are paid sessions. Fees are discussed transparently during the Discovery Call and confirmed in writing before the first paid session.
  • Sliding-scale availability may be offered at the practitioner's clinical discretion, based on circumstances disclosed during intake.
  • Sessions are booked via the website contact form, WhatsApp, or email and confirmed by Shainna within 24 hours of the request.
  • Cancellation policy: Sessions cancelled more than 24 hours before the scheduled time may be rescheduled or fully refunded at the client's preference. Sessions cancelled within 24 hours of the scheduled time, or missed without prior notice, are billable at 50% of the session fee.
  • Prepaid programme refunds: Refunds for unused sessions in the 8-Week Transformation Program follow a prorated schedule. Full details are set out in the programme agreement signed at intake.
  • Right of withdrawal (EU clients): For EU clients, the statutory 14-day right of withdrawal applies to first-time bookings of paid programmes. To exercise this right, email info@naltherapy.com within 14 days of payment. Once a session has commenced, the right of withdrawal for that session is waived.
Section 07

Disclaimer of Warranty and Limitation of Liability

The Site and Services are provided "as is" and "as available". NAL makes no representation or warranty, express or implied, that the Services will meet any specific therapeutic outcome or that any particular result will be achieved. Therapeutic work is inherently collaborative; outcomes depend on factors beyond the practitioner's control, including the client's engagement, consistency, and external circumstances.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, NAL's aggregate liability to any client arising from or in connection with these Terms or the Services — whether in contract, tort, or otherwise — shall not exceed the total fees paid by that client to NAL in the twelve months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits NAL's liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. This Section 7 survives the termination or expiry of these Terms.

Section 08

Client Conduct and Responsibilities

By engaging NAL's Services, the client agrees to:

  • Provide accurate contact information and, where clinically requested, emergency-contact details at intake.
  • Attend sessions at the scheduled time, with a reliable internet connection, in a private and reasonably uninterrupted location.
  • Not record sessions — by any means, audio or video — without the practitioner's prior written consent.
  • Treat the practitioner with respect at all times. Abusive, threatening, or harassing behaviour directed at the practitioner is grounds for immediate termination of the therapeutic relationship, without refund of any session already commenced.
  • Not redistribute, screenshot, or publicly share clinical materials (worksheets, framework content, session transcripts, or written communications) without the practitioner's prior written permission.
Section 09

Practitioner Conduct and Confidentiality

The practitioner agrees to:

  • Maintain strict clinical confidentiality with respect to all client disclosures, subject only to the exceptions required by law and professional ethics: imminent risk of harm to self or others, court-ordered disclosure, reasonable suspicion of abuse or neglect of a minor or vulnerable adult, or a valid subpoena.
  • Maintain professional clinical records as required by the regulatory frameworks applicable to the practice, held securely and for the legally required retention period.
  • Provide appropriate referrals when a client's presenting needs fall outside the scope of NAL's practice — including, without limitation, psychiatric medication management, in-person crisis intervention, and acute inpatient care.
Section 10

Telehealth Consent

By booking and attending sessions, the client consents to receiving therapeutic services via online video, voice, and written communication, and acknowledges the inherent risks and limitations of remote care. These include, but are not limited to, technical failure, reduced access to non-verbal clinical cues, and limitations on the practitioner's capacity to respond to in-session emergencies that require physical presence.

The client agrees to disclose their physical location at the start of each session. This is required for clinical and jurisdictional purposes and is treated as confidential.

The client may withdraw consent to telehealth delivery at any time by providing written notice to info@naltherapy.com. Withdrawal of telehealth consent does not affect the client's rights with respect to fees already paid or the practitioner's obligations already incurred.

Section 11

Consent for Minors

NAL does not currently provide direct therapeutic services to clients under the age of 18. Family sessions or consultations that involve the presence of a minor are conducted only with the documented written consent of all legal guardians and where a clear clinical rationale has been established at intake. Any such involvement is assessed on a case-by-case basis at the practitioner's clinical discretion.

Section 12

Electronic Communications

The client consents to receiving electronic communications from NAL — by email, WhatsApp, or SMS — for the purposes of session scheduling, intake forms, session follow-ups, and care coordination. Where the client has opted in, this also includes the Lab Letter newsletter.

The client may unsubscribe from non-essential communications (including the newsletter) at any time by following the unsubscribe link in any newsletter email, or by writing to info@naltherapy.com. Unsubscribing from non-essential communications does not affect the delivery of communications that are necessary to ongoing clinical care.

Section 13

Modifications to the Service

NAL reserves the right to modify, temporarily suspend, or discontinue the Site or any aspect of the Services, with reasonable advance notice where practicable. Active clients will be notified at least 14 days in advance of any change materially affecting their ongoing care, except where immediate action is required for safety, legal, or regulatory reasons beyond NAL's reasonable control. These Terms may be updated from time to time; the current version is always the version published at naltherapy.com/terms.html.

Section 14

Account Security

Clients are responsible for maintaining the security of their email accounts, booking confirmations, intake materials, and clinical communications with the practitioner. NAL is not liable for any loss, disclosure, or misuse of information resulting from unauthorised access to a client's email account, WhatsApp account, or any other communication channel the client uses to interact with NAL.

Section 15

Indemnification

To the extent permitted by applicable law, the client agrees to indemnify and hold harmless Neuro Alchemy Lab and Shainna against any claims, damages, losses, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from or in connection with: (a) the client's breach of any provision of these Terms; (b) the client's misuse of clinical materials, framework content, or intellectual property owned by NAL; or (c) the client's violation of any applicable law in connection with their use of the Site or Services.

Section 16

Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Belgium, the seat of C.Q.F.D. A.S.B.L., NAL's affiliated non-profit. For EU clients, the mandatory consumer protection provisions of the client's country of habitual residence apply where they afford stronger protection than Belgian law.

In the event of any dispute arising from or in connection with these Terms or the Services, the parties agree first to attempt to resolve the matter through good-faith informal negotiation. A 30-day cooling-off period begins from the date either party notifies the other in writing of the dispute. If the dispute is not resolved within that period, it shall be submitted to the competent courts of Brussels, Belgium, except where mandatory consumer protection rules of the client's country of residence require otherwise.

EU residents may also use the European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution platform, accessible at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.

Section 17

Contact and Complaints

All notices, questions, and complaints relating to these Terms should be directed to: info@naltherapy.com.

Postal address (correspondence only): C.Q.F.D. A.S.B.L., Brussels, Belgium. Registration is in progress; the full registered address will be added to this page once available.

For complaints that cannot be resolved directly with NAL, EU clients may also contact their national data protection authority (for data-related complaints) or their national consumer mediation body.
